On 26 September, Cava del Sole will reopen its doors to the general public with the rhythms of Deejay Time, while on 27 September, the Matera Cielo Stellato show will be held. These two events mark the first step in the run-up to Matera becoming the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026. The programme, presented by the Municipality of Matera, is organised in collaboration with the Matera-Basilicata 2019 Foundation. It will start on Friday 26 September, with Cava del Sole providing the stage for an extraordinary evening of energy with Deejay Time, while on Saturday 27 September, the public will be able to enjoy the Matera Cielo Stellato experience in Sasso Barisano and Piazza Duomo. Matera Cielo Stellato, an open-air show that will allow young and old alike to admire a starry sky in the Sassi districts through lights and music. Among the events planned by the Municipality of Matera are Gli stati della cultura (The States of Culture) on 14 November, in collaboration with Il Sole 24 Ore; Mediterranean Day, which will take place on 28 November; participation in the TTG in Rimini and the confirmation of the Living Nativity Scene, in addition to the calendar of Christmas events.
