On Wednesday, December 3, the last of the five stages of the 2025 edition of Il Sole 24 Ore’s General Assembly of Culture will be held in Matera (from 10:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., at Casa Cava). These stages have crossed Italy from north to south, passing through Naples, Florence, Palermo, and Turin, cities that represent observatories on changes in the industry.

“The internal Mediterranean: stories, cultures, and communities meet in Matera,” reads a note that continues: “After Naples, Florence, Palermo, and Turin, Il Sole 24 Ore, together with the City of Matera and the Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation, brings the States General of Culture to the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026 for the final stage of this year.

A day of dialogue on the Mediterranean as a space for relationships, exchanges, and well-being, between past and future. Many topics will be addressed during this day of work, under the guidance of an authoritative audience of experts, institutional representatives, voices from the world of culture, and managers from a sector that is strategic for the life of the country and the South. From cultural welfare as a tool for cohesion and well-being, to new routes for widespread design, to music and the arts as languages of peace and encounter.
