Initiating cooperation between European, African and Middle Eastern realities, this was the goal at the center of the summit held in Tirana in recent hours during an official discussion dedicated to Mediterranean capitals of culture and dialogue.
Creating a network among Mediterranean capitals of culture involving cities from Europe, Africa and the Middle East becomes crucial to sustain a project of common growth. This is how the Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation presented “Terre emerse,‘’ the cultural program linked to Matera, which will be Mediterranean Capital of Culture in 2026 together with Tetouan, to connect distant cultural realities and exchange experiences to strengthen cooperation in a geographical area rich in history and diversity. “Emerging Lands” in addition to promoting cultural events, aims to generate dialogue, exchange and new opportunities in the territories involved. Tirana thus becomes the zero point for a cooperation capable of lasting over time, building synergies and enhancing its identity figures. A project that capitalizes on the heritage accrued by Matera already European Capital in 2019.
