The Sant’Andrea farmhouse extends along the Murgia area of the same name near Matera’s ravine, on the left side of the Loe valley. In 1595 it was mentioned in the list of Matera’s rupestrian farmhouses, even though today it is located within the territory of the Municipality of Montescaglioso. The farmhouse is comprised of caves dug out of the rock, cisterns, apiaries and six rock churches with adjoining burial sites.
