The so-called Tibetan Bridge is a bridge suspended on steel cables at a height of 10 metres across the gorge above Matera’s Gravina stream. It is an integral part of path 406 of the Murgia Materana Natural Park, which leads from the Sassi district to the Belvedere of Murgia Timone. The bridge allows tourists to cross the stream and visit a rock settlement with numerous caves and rock churches embellished with valuable medieval frescoes.
