The Municipality of Matera, together with the Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019, has supported and is actively participating in the organisation of the “ACCOGLIERE AD ARTE MATERA” project, conceived by Progetto Museo and produced by Confguide Matera. AAA – Accogliere Ad Arte has already been tested in Naples and is currently being implemented in Procida and Brindisi.

The initiative foresees the organisation of free guided tours for training purposes intended for: MUNICIPAL POLICE, TOURIST AND BUSINESS OPERATORS, TAXI DRIVERS, DRIVERS OF VEHICLES FOR HIRE, ADVERTISERS IN THE MAIN MUSEUMS AND CULTURAL SITES OF MATERA. These people are of fundamental importance in establishing first relationships with visitors to the city, and have a need to be more competent and aware of their own cultural heritage so that they are ready to give precise indications when receiving tourists and visitors.

After launching the organisational and planning stages in October 2021, the project is now in full swing with free guided tours for receptionists interested in being trained in this field.

From today until 12 February 2022, those interested can fill in the form: https://forms.gle/ECSWtsGv4iS3vWxe9 and apply to take part in one of the following tours:
